Colm Lynch [VIDEO]

New logo , nice isnt it (O: in My Photos by

Lynch’s much-anticipated debut album, A Whisper in a Riot oozes with a confidence, passion and steely determination unusual in a first offering……. might be the most exciting thing you’ve heard in years.
Colm O’ Hare, Hotpress

Lyrically and musically, Lynch is a super sized cut above the rest with songs that stick in your memory.
Orla O’ Brien, In Dublin.

The lyrics are more Dylan than Rice, the energy more Paul Weller than Paddy Casey.
Bianca Lukyx, TV Now.

Cinematic, stylish, different……..very different and very good.
Dave Fanning 2FM
Colm Lynch is possibly the best Irish newcomer to emerge from 2006. A Whisper In A Riot is one of the albums from last year

that just shouldn’t be missed.
In Dublin.

Superb debut……..it is the lead man’s vocals that will ultimately win you over.
Gareth Maher, Totally Dublin.

I don’t know why he’s not in everyone’s record collection. I think he’s fantastic.
Michelle Harding, Acoustic Highway, RTE Radio1

Exceptional debut album.
Eddie Rowley, Sunday World.

I heard Colm play in Dalkey recently and I thought he was super so I asked him to come in today to sing a few songs……his version of Hallelujah is really beautiful.
Karen Coleman, The Wide Angle, Newstalk, Christmas Eve 2006

Colm does seem to have a direct line to the spirits of Dylan and Mike Scott.
Kevin Courtney, Irish Times

It’s fair to say that Killiney native Colm Lynch is entering a hugely crowded market of singer/songwriters, but his debut major-label single indicates that Damien Rice et al might be able to squeeze out just a little more.
Shilpa Ganatra, Hotpress

………..a captivating live performer with fantastic songs. Machine-gun percussuve playing accompanies unusual lyrical content and a vivid stage presence.

Best Male 2007
BalconyTV Awards,Sugar Club June 9 , 2007

…comes on like a one man hoedown.
Tim Smyth, Trinity News

….his expressive vocals and narrative style carry occasional echoes of the Blood on the Tracks-era Dylan…… it is his literate and incisive lyrics that really distinguish him from dozens of other Irish artists.
Eistmusic

This album is a great addition to any collection…6 out of 6

…glorious, beautifully crafted songs of a real troubadour whose lyrical edge will knock you for six……delighting audiences with his charismatic live performances
Sinister Pete, Phantom 105.2

……reminiscent of latter-day Van Morrison…….even a hint of Springsteen in Lynch’s passionate, soulful delivery..

The_Weeknd – “House of Balloons” [ALBUM]

So people are always talking about what’s hot right now in the R&B and soul game and honestly haven’t had too many people I’m proud to just spurt out like The_Weeknd. After playing his first album, about 21 times, it was definitely time to spread the love for this Toronto based independent artist and SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!

House Of Balloons has that old school soul vibe that everyone was bumpin’ during the 90s like it was going out of style. The only difference here is the incredible use of modern technology to perfect this sensational recording quality. It’s that new old soul! The best part is one I’ve been saving for the end of this post and that is to inform everyone that you can just simply Click Here for a FREE Download of the entire album.

the weeknd

One other thing that’s totally worth noting about this group. This is their first album and you can find it EVERYWHERE!!! Gotta give credit where credit is due, and these cats threw down a legit online marketing campaign for this album and definitely set up real nice to drop anything further with large following on all networks. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, and Soundcloud.

Popskarr – “My Dreams” [MUSIC] [FREE DOWNLOAD]

What happens when Belgium singer IAmWaves, and South African DJ/Producer Lapse, combine musical forces?  The awesome fusion results in the duo Popskarr, whose most recent track is available for free download via soundlcoud in promotion of their upcoming EP release in July.  The haunting vocals, 80s like synths and talented production work will not disappoint.  I’m looking forward to hearing more like this in their July release!

Saint Motel – “Dear Dictator” [VIDEO]

In the world of Saint Motel, nothing bows to convention: Stages become forests and living rooms, and shows become kaleidoscopic mind explosions in 3D. This theatrically creative world is due in large part to the fact that the gentlemen of Saint Motel formed in film school. The band’s keen visual sensibility has yielded an array of stunningly original videos that accompany songs from their recently released debut EP ForPlay, released via the band’s label On The Records, and the physical or digital version of ForPlay includes the free added bonus of the beautiful, ultra-conceptualized videos for each song.

The raw energy apparent in Saint Motel’s music is felt at a new level when experiencing them live. The band’s live shows are marked by this effusive energy and the spectacle of exciting visual soundscapes that blend the sonic with the artful. Jackson explains, “People want to be entertained when they go out to see a show so we try to offer not only an energetic performance but also a memorable experience.” Metromix agrees, stating that “Saint Motel never fail to put on a show that’s a treat for the senses” and The Onion claims “Saint Motel has a…particular blend of wholesome indie rock brimming with raucous sexual energy,” while Flavorpill declares the band “Imploring, atonal, and irresistible garage glam.” — exert from Saint Motel’s myspace page.
