Soap & Skin – “Turbine Womb” [MUSIC]

soap and skin

It’s not everyday that you’re captured by a new age classical piece while stumbling through the internet, but it was impossible to leave this track alone, having played it almost 10 times prior to writing this post. I know it’s a bit older, released in 2009 but “Turbine Womb” is an incredibly moving experimental composition by the 21 year-old Austrian vocal, piano, violin performing sensation Anja Franziska Plaschg.

Anja brings an interesting feeling to her dark ambient style, adding a touch of beauty to every stroke of the keys. It’s songs such as these, while lacking lyrical passion, touching on a multitude of emotions that help reveal the true art in a sound.  I’d imagine coming from Vienna has had a great influence on Soap&Skin’s creative soul. Max Richter – “On The Nature Of Day” [MUSIC]

It’s quite difficult these days to find quality classical music especially if you don’t really know where you’re looking. Well luckily I was privileged with stumbling into Max Richter‘s music through the soundcloud. I was quickly haulted of my work as this soothing violin crept in the background to bring an inspirational melody similar to what is heard on film. “On The Nature Of Day” is the opening title to one of his later works entitled ‘The Blue Notebook’. Please visit his sites to hear more of his work and learn a little more about Max Richter’s musical composition experience.

Racer X – Scarified [VIDEO]

First off, this group is filled with intense amounts of talent including Paul Gilbert, on guitar (Rated 4th in GuitarOne magazine, “Top 10 Greatest Guitar Shedders of All Time”), Juan Alderete of The Mars Volta, and speed-demon Marco Minnemann on the drums. These guitar riffs and fills bring a classical composition to this heavy metal tone which represents Racer X. This is an amazing track by Paul and you have to love the space suits, lol.
