MaXXXimum – “Destroy the Dancefloor” [VIDEO]

Meet Max Kline, a London-based electro producer who goes by the stage name MaXXXimum. Recently, he released a new track entitled “Destroy the Dancefloor” which I have taken a serious liking to. It has even supplanted The Shrugs‘ nearly two week hold of my cell phone’s ringtone. I once read, of MaXXXimum’s basslines, that the “XXX” in his name was appropriate because his basslines were so dirty.

Klein has been garnering local attention and has been featured on BBC’s “Introducing…,” which strives to support unsigned, undiscovered, and under the radar artists. You can hear a portion of that segment here. For you viewing pleasure, Klein has also created a video, a video mashup of sorts, for “Destroy the Dancefloor.” Set to the backdrop of the vampiric thriller The Lost Boys, Kline creates an audial thriller of his own, which you can download here free of charge.

Afrobeta – “Play House” [VIDEO]

This video is wild! “Play House” is a futuristic escapade which looks more like a scene from Tron than it does a music video. It’s a funky blend of quick-hitting lyrics and funky synths, guaranteed to keep your head bopping from beginning to end.

Afrobeta is an electro-funk doublet from Miami composed of Tony Smurphio & Cuci Amador. Noticeable for more than his sublime hairdo, Smurphio lays down the thumping beats, synths, and funky finger work on the keys (Smurphio actually served as Pitbull’s traveling keyboardist for a number of years before Afrobeta). Amador, the sexy Cuban, fronts the group and provides the seductive vocals.

Afrobeta was formed “as a means to attain an ultimate form of artistic self-expression,” and you can feel the individual markings of each piece in their music. Their debut album Under the Streets will be released on August 9th of this year.

MNDR – “Fade to Black” [LIVE]

Comprised of Amanda Warner and Peter Wade, MNDR (pronounced “man-dar”) is an electro-pop duo formed in 2009. The two hooked up after Warner moved to New York City from Oakland, CA. “Fade to Black” has a bouncy, up-beat sound with an electronic feel. MNDR is currently recording an LP which should be available later this year. You can find more information on the duo as well as tour dates at their homepage.

Stereo MCs is an alternative electronica group from London, England. From the few singles I’ve heard, you can tell this group definitely tries to mix it up and present creative expressions for their audience. Stereo MCs released their single, “Boy,” earlier this month. You can find out more information about Stereo MCs at their website and become a fan at their facebook home.

Mr. Sakitumi – “Azzmatic” + ILL Vid Performance of “This That Beat” – Track off his Upcoming Album!

Mr. Sakitumi is holding it down for Cape Town, South Africa! His latest is pure African Dope. Here’s “Azzmatic”:

Mr. Sakitumi is truly amazing. Not only does he play more instruments than I can count, but his style is so clean and so, so dope. He takes it back to the basics and breaks it down. Allow this video to demonstrate – watch him just murder this MPC, and also note the turntable visuals – doesn’t get much realer than that. This is Mr. Sakitumi performing a live version of his track “This That Beat” off of his upcoming debut album with African Dope Records, scheduled for release later this year.

These are just a few samples of all of the incredibly sick music you’re going to get for free in your email just for signing up to African Dopes mailing list. I also highly recommend the rest of Mr. Sakitumi’s Soundcloud page, and his Myspace.

Bonobo – Ketto [MUSIC]

Haven’t heard a real smooth electronic track like “ketto” in awhile. Reminds me of a laid back version DJ Shadow’s tone and style. Bonobo has just released a new album entitled “Black Sands”. Enjoy this track and please click the image above to view more tracks and download the latest album.
