Other Lives take the spacey vibe of their latest hit “For 12”, off their 2nd album Tamer Animals, to Mars in this incredible video journey through outerspace. The Oklahoma-based band’s added strings really build a perfect ambient setting to the enhanced digital effects of a spaceranger exploring the terrain to the forward sounds of western alternative bliss. The group consists of 5 members who play the said instruments as follows:
You can catch these guys on tour now pumpin’ the release of their new album through TBD Records. Currently on the east coast, the group has a show in Asheville, NC where they will then be making there way out west by the end of the summer. Tamer Animals is set to release in the UK in Late August of this year.
Get ready to be blown away by the sensational disco house, indie/pop sounds of Reptar in their upcoming EP release. I was just recently introduced to the band a few days back and remember thinking, “wow that sounds a lot like Phoenix” but after visiting their myspace page I learned they came from Athens, GA. This is the first album they will be releasing jointly under Quality Faucet Records and Make Records, Not Bombs. So thankfully the guys threw a couple preview tracks from the album out on soundcloud about a month ago. I think we will be seeing much more of this party group starting this year, especially after their performance at the SXSW ’11 Festival. Upon the release be on the lookout for any shows coming up in your area promoting the new album. They are a cool indie/pop/dance group with a jam packed punch of rage worthy of any live event. Enjoy “Blastoff” and “Stuck in my ID” and be sure to catch the album release this friday!

So once I got over the comedic reference in their name, it was quite hard to stop listening to this new 7″ vinyl by Purity Ring. The latest addition before the release was the cleverly arranged “Lofticries” which is just an amazingly ambient piece hinting of the R&B and hiphop vibe. Enjoy this track and visit their site to download these two tracks for free. But don’t be ‘that guy’, let’s show some love and shell out the minor $5 charge for the 7″ vinyl of both tracks.
The fun doesn’t stop there! The song was first heard from David Dean Burkhart‘s independent video for “Lofticries” using footage from an old 1970s Swedish film entitled Thriller: A Cruel Picture.
Yeasayer just released this really trippy music video for their title track from their newest EP “I Remember”. The song in this video has a very electronic feel in the background accompanied by smooth ambient vocals. Please visit their site to hear more of their music and download this EP for FREE.
Get yourself ready for friday night with some Avicii. This track is the top single off his newest EP “Vicious”. This track is badass and definitely one of the best ones I’ve heard from Avicii since “Alcoholic” and “Bromance”. Please enjoy this track and check out the EP here to download.
With the release of their new EP, Old Wives’ Tale joined up with South Rocket Droogs for the development of a new website ‘Late-Night Paraphernalia’ to promote the production of this album. The site contains a compilation of photographs and video samples for each track off the album to help spark initial interest in their newest project. Please enjoy these few photos and video offered and feel free click the image above to be directed to the exact site.
Just stumbledupon this one last week by Clones Of The Queen. This group is absolutely overflowing with creativity, as they blend heavy bass backgrounds with unique rock guitar riffs, producing a sound that will really have you wondering what genre you’re really listening to. Please enjoy these two tracks off of the new EP and please visit their site to download this album for free, or show some love and keep the music going by donating $5 for the album. Enjoy:
This album is insane by SKRILLEX. Watching this EP teaser they put together to promote the album will give you a great idea of the crazy transitions that take place to expose the scary and nice within each track. Enjoy this video and check out the whole album here.
The Bloody Five just dropped their Bedroom Music album today for FREE download on their site. Just caught wind of these guys through twitter. They have a really unique style with an indie rock feel driven by upbeat drumming with an almost metal feel, having lots faster riffs. The new digital 5-track album is a great start to their originals collection. This is a great band with undoubted potential as they gain more influence and experience throughout their career. Here is a track from the album:
The Electronica/Trip Hop/Funk band Gravity out of Denver, Co is a MUST see live, however if you can’t get out to the Mile High City just yet, hearing their stuff online is just as satisfying..almost.
Brian Cornell – Keys
Mark Cooley – Guitar / Live Production
Moe Valez – Bass / Synth Bass
Tynan Olsen – Drums
One of the reasons I like Gravity so much is their experimental nature. They play around with a number of different genres and like to blend them together to form something completely different. The result is an energy-packed feel good explosion that will have you head bumping all day.
These guys are on the cutting edge for sure. One could easily describe their sound as electro-funk, but then I think they’d be missing out on the bigger picture. Their music ultimately represents a higher form of creative expression that is something all it’s own. It is really an awesome experience that I recommend everyone check out. This band is ILL!
You can find Gravity’s tour schedule here. Also look out for Gravity’s upcoming EP entitled Fire Sermon. It will be available for free sometime in the coming weeks. You will be able to download it for FREE on their website and you can stay updated by liking them on their Facebook page.
Here’s a sneak peak track off of their upcoming EP. This track is called Virga, which means an observable streak of precipitation that falls from a cloud but evaporates before reaching the ground. This track is disgusting!
