Dot The One – World Is Not Enough (Remix) from Ghana’s Dj Juls

This is a really dope remix from Dj Juls. I’m not sure where the sample on the hook came from but it’s sick. Dot‘s flow fits perfectly over the beat too. It’s a madd chill mix with a sick vibe. A+ remix to a classic song.

Dot The One has been steadily climbing to the top of the underground hip hop charts. His most recent release “American Dreaming” has proven to be just what he needed to finally push over the edge. His much anticipated new mixtape A.G.L. (Above Ground Level) is set to release sometime this month, and Dot’s debut album Aviators and Bombers is also scheduled to drop by the end of the year.

Rebelution’s New Remix EP Release – Sneak Peak [Music]

Today, Controlled Substance/87 Recordings released Rebelution‘s “Remix EP”! This is a collection of reworking and remixes by the band and pals that cannot be missed featuring Zion I, Yeti Beats, and many more.

Ever since their first single “Courage to Grow” in 2007, the band has become a breakthrough force for those who love the sound paved by Sublime, and have toured constantly, reached Billboard Reggae number 1, and played alonside acts like Lauryn Hill and Slightly Stoopid. Rebelution is currently on Tour with Pepper and Junior Reed, check out tour dates here.

Here’s a sneak peak track off of the EP. It’s a remix of Rebelution’s popular song “Safe and Sound” featuring Zion-I with a dirty verse in there I might add. Enjoy!

Apophenia – Band Review – New EP out now

Apophenia – “Orbiter”

Apophenia’s music is a warm amalgamation of indie rock and ambient tones. The term Apophenia is defined as the experience of seeing meaningful patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.

Their music seems so familiar when you first turn it on. I’m not sure if it’s because it sounds like something else or because the ambient sounds just make you feel all warm inside, but either way it kicks ass.  The way the vocals blend with the music just brings it all together. These guys are iLL!

Vinny Vegas – Band Review + New Vinyl Release!

Vinny Vegas is an amazing rock band out of Baltimore, MD.

The band consists of:

Justin Fogelman – Guitar and Vocals
Scott Siskind – Guitar and Vocals
Emmanuel Lee – Keys

Vinny Vegas has been around since about 2004. Their last EP Land of Giants had some of my favorite tracks from 2009 on it like Watch out for Mastodons and Four Rabbits (Listen Here). Now they’ve just released a 7” Vinyl recording with 2 brand new tracks. Here’s a sneak peak of one of them:

Brooklyn-based Aunt Ange Release indie rock gem

It’s seldom these days for an indie rock album to be released free of any of the seemingly prerequisite hipster cliches, but “Olga Walks Away” manages to do just that.  The third release from Brooklyn-based Aunt Ange is too dark and theatrical to be compared to Dr. Dog, too organic to fit cleanly into the MGMT category, and way too original to be compared to most other contemporary artists.  If pressed for a reference point to describe “Olga Walks Away”, one would be more likely to compare this album to something you would expect from a Neil Young/Danny Elfman collaboration.
