So I know most of you on here know of The Diplomats. You know, the harlem hiphop group started by rappers Cam’Ron and Jim Jones. Well I heard the new single “Streetz Tonight” as my first AraabMuzik song and was just completely blown away by the killer composition and transitioning between hip-hop and dance with such ease. Turns out that Araab’s been rollin’ under The Diplomats for quite sometime and definitely making his mark as one of the illest producers in the game on an MPC. Having only been in the spotlight for a few years he is really starting to make a name for himself with the recent release of his solo debut album Electronic Dreams. Here’s the first track I heard and one of his top singles so far, “Streetz Tonight”
After hearing that track you sense that heavy hiphop influence throughout the rhythms and drums, while incorporating that ever popular trance synth the modern party scene looks for in a dance hit. This Providence, Rhode Island native has definitely bagged a new sound and something with much room to build on. I’m excited to have heard such an amazing album in Electric Dreams and I encourage you to check it out. This second track builds beautifully off the ecstasy of female vocals dropped into a sick hip-hop breakdown suitable for any listen experience. Here is “Golden Torch”

So it’s ULTRA Music Festival weekend in Downtown Miami and it’s Friday List day soooo0 I couldn’t help but pay some tribute to one of the top progressive HOUSE DJs in the world right now, Avicii. Here’s a new one for you that will definitely get your blood flowing to get the weekend kicked off on the right track. This guy is an absolute beast with his production putting out some of the best HOUSE breakdowns in the scene today. The build up is pretty typical of Avicii in the beginning not knowing what to expect then follows up by dropping what may be the best of his sounds so far.
It’s your boy KING OLA out of Atlanta, Georgia with another sweet mix for the ears. He was goin for the baby makin’ grooves on this one and he puts it ever so nicely, “This is something you turn down, or off, the lights and get down to business with.” Please enjoy the new mix and catch the full-length download or individual track download below. And I almost forgot, but this is clearly the Friday List styl-E.
Get back into the HOUSE groove with this track by the German female producer/DJ Steffi from Berlin. This is a bit more laid back than what you’re used to hearing from the HOUSE genre on the blog, but it’s only Wednesday. Throw this one on in the car and just cruise, as Steffi lets this smooth beat ride out. Hear more music at her myspace page.
For a moment there I wasn’t really sure if Deadmau5 was going to put another bangin’ hit like when he dropped “Strobe” in ’09. But sure enough the Toronto based HOUSE DJ, currently the top DJ in the world, answered to his fans and created this new jam that’s an obvious Friday List worthy track. Its really hard to create such a long song over 10 minutes and be able to maintain the focus of the listener but Deadmau5 has perfected this process with “Strobe” and now “HR 8938 Cephei”. Along with the length it’s good to note the slow build up in the new track that makes for a great club opener to really get the crowd going. You can visit the soundcloud page where he just released the song 4 days ago.
This Vancouver hiphop prodigy has really made a big name for himself in the past year with the release of “The Lightyear Mixtape” last summer. Coming back this year early in February with his latest full length album “Where’s Waldo?” you’re taken to a whole new level of flow and production. I totally get that Lupe Fiasco feel in his flow mixed with some vocal sound of Mos Def. It’s artists like this that make you happy to be independent and remember the indie music world is the best world for quality sound. The second track on the album “Blast Off” really excerpts the young phenoms lyrical ability on top of his speedy flow. Enjoy the track and please check out SonReal here to download the full album for FREE.
It’s the end of the week and everyone is ready to let loose and have a good time. Here is a great addition to todays Friday List with progressive house DJ Matteo Marini‘s newest hits “Texas” and “GreenP” from the ‘Texas’ EP which released this monday on beatport under Deeperfect Records. Obviously had to weight until Friday to let this one out to you all. No one likes raging on a Monday, LOL. So bump it up and get your dance on tonight!!!
Here is the title song off of the recently debuted “Shrimps” EP on BeatPort from German producer Homeboi. This album was released early February and really kills it but this is the only track you can purchase without having any remixers. The originality alone puts this song on a totally different level as the rest from the EP. Check it out
Doesn’t really sound like much at first, I realize that, but believe me just give it a bit of time and once you hit the 2 minute mark you’ll be bobbin’ your head in complete neglect of the confusing sounds you had encountered from the start. The off-beat background opening the song really pulls much of the creativity, hitting you with a beat that most people are completely not expecting. Now this is the Hawaiian’s first EP entitled “Orinda” which just released on the 1st of this month. Please enjoy “Branches” and check out the rest of the album here.
Brenton just recently released a video with the MicControl Blog, showing the creation of this latest beat. Watch how he grabbed a sick Skrillex sample and created an entirely new beat. Definitely check out this video quick before enjoying this track.
This underlying beat he just created is totally awesome. Here is the full version of the song that you just witnessed being created, enjoy:
