The Weeknd – “Rolling Stone” [NEW MUSIC]

The Weeknd

The Weeknd just dropped his latest tracks on youtube last week and for some reason it has been removed because it violates Youtubes Terms and Services!!!! DUMB!!! Thanks to soundcloud we were able to grab the original version of this instant acoustic-vibin’ hit brought to you by 2011’s top R&B artist. Definitely staying consistent with his quality continually raising the bar higher and higher for himself. Here is “Rolling Stone”

So we finally got ahold of that track, but that’s not all that’s going on in the music world of The Weeknd. Since his infamous release of House Of Balloons earlier this year, many fans have been comprising music videos for the artist to show there never-ending support. Some videos weren’t really recognized by the Weeknd but others kindly caught his graces such as the most recent release for his track “Wicked Games”. Directed by Storm Saulter

Amazing Street Performer – Dub FX – Beatboxing, Looping, Singing – Reggae/Hip Hop [Video]

This guy is ridiculous, you gotta hear this shit. I’d buy his cd if I saw him doing that shit in the street..

I have no idea who this guy is or where he is from, but he’s amazing. (He says his name is Dub FX in the beginning). I think this really speaks to the volume of talent out there that’s still left to be discovered around the world. Never underestimate people.

Just found another ridiculous video from Dub FX on the roof top, he’s got plenty, (and a pretty big following too) he’s dirty:

Voice Check: 10 Tips for Healthy Singing

1. Technique is King
Maintaining great technique is without question the basis for a healthy voice. Good technique prevents injury and enables performers to sing at the top of their game every time. “With proper training, the singer/actor learns to release excess tensions in the body and throat muscles,” says Rodgers. “This means that the vocal mechanism is sitting in a muscular environment that will allow it to function at its best. Proper vocal technique means that the singer/actor has learned to use ‘diaphragmatic breath support’ in singing. This moves the effort of support to the abdominal muscles and away from the muscles that are closest to the throat. Proper vocal technique means that the singer/actor has trained the vocal folds to respond to pitch changes and that the singer/actor can maximize the gifts that nature has provided.”

“Improper technique can lead to vocal injuries, which can be annoying and limiting at best and career-ending at worst,” says DeVore. “Most common vocal injuries (nodules, polyps, bruising, swelling) are caused at least in part by the vocal cords slamming together too hard when we speak, sing, shout, scream, wail, keen, sob and so forth. There are ways to do all of those things healthily, which ensures that a performer will have a flexible voice to last through his or her career.” Continue reading

MusicWithoutLabel.com’s Weekly Indie Artist Review

Band Name:

Apex Vibe

Album Title:

Rhythm Music

Band Members and Positions:

Tim Sanchez (Vocals/Guitar)

Chris Howells (Guitar/Backing)

Sam Caudill (Keys/Backing Vocals)

Will Lovell (Bass/Backing Vocals)

Dubs (Drums)

Genre:

Reggae / Hip-Hop

Record Label:

Independent

Difficulty of Music:

Apex Vibe applies very catchy verses along with smooth transitioning into their chorus and solos. The difficulty in the verses is fairly simple while still raising the bar a bit with the transitions and solos.

Comparisons to Other Artists:

Apex Vibe would be most compared to Sublime and 311, with a touch of The Roots within their beats.

Lyrical Significance:

The lyrics used in this album are very up beat and positive, making it nearly impossible not to sing along.

Overall Rating (out of 10):

I would give Rhythm Music an 8 out of 10.

Analysis:

This album is very well constructed but lacking in the track list given the fact that there are only four songs on the entire album. From their perspective it is a decent idea to focus on making four very well written tracks rather than having a 10 or 15 track album and only have a few actually good songs. However plans for a full album are in the works and production is set to start soon. More info about the new full album will be updated as we receive it.
